Rally Road has produced these billet aluminum BMW Fuel Tank Lock Ring Removal Tools.
Remove the lock ring and install over and over without damage. We too used to use a hammer and screwdriver to remove the fuel tank lock rings. But with this tool, it's so effortless to loosen the large plastic or metal nuts.
Works on BMW's from 1988 to 2013....plastic or metal nuts.
Requires a 1/2" drive ratchet and and a short extension can be handy as well.
